5+1 things that shorten your FRIGG pacifier’s life

During its brief life, your pacifier will probably experience being scalded, chewed, tugged and occasionally thrown. These adventures will limit the pacifier’s shelf life and understanding these can help us determine and optimize the duration of its life.

Lunababy recommends replacing your FRIGG pacifier after 4-8 weeks of use (add link to blog: when to replace your FRIGG pacifier). Yet, there are 6 key conditions that can either extend or abbreviate your pacifier’s lifespan.

What can impact your FRIGG pacifier’s lifespan:

  1. Storage:

How you store your baby’s pacifier matters. Exposure to light and heat can influence its durability. Ensure your pacifiers stay clean, dry, shaded and not overly hot.

  1. Cleaning:

Proper cleaning is crucial for pacifier longevity. Avoid boiling, tossing it in the washing machine or using any detergents.

  1. Quantity in Rotation:

If your baby has multiple pacifiers in constant rotation, each pacifier will naturally endure less wear. For our FRIGG natural rubber pacifiers, we recommend having several in use simultaneously, replacing them regularly, as natural rubber expands over time.

  1. Frequency of use:

The more the use of the pacifier, the quicker it wears out. Additionally, the strength of suction varies among children, influencing the pacifier’s durability, especially for natural rubber pacifiers.

  1. Teething and Biting:

As your child grows teeth, the pacifier might become a comforting chew toy. While it is a delightful sensation for the baby, sharp milk teeth can impact the pacifier’s integrity.

  1. Material:

Notably, there is a distinction in durability between natural rubber and silicone.

Natural rubber, being 100% organic, has a shorter lifespan than silicone.
